    Hey guys,

Im due to go to Mexico in about 6 weeks. The hospital will give me a letter explaining what my machine is.
Just wondering though as my machine is mains operated I am assuming that I will not be able to use it on the plane.

What do I do about sleeping on the plane as I have a 10 hr flight and it leaves early morning so I will be tired!

Im sorry for all the random questions.

I have travelled many times over the last 9 years with the CPAP machine and never had a problem at security or with an airline.

As for whether you can use it on the plane, that depends on how you are flying. http://www.seatguru.com has information on the seats for different airlines and aircraft including whether they have power. If they do have power, you may still need an adaptor.

I have flown to South Africa twice with British Airways, once in Premium Economy and once in Business class...in Premium economy it was possible to use the CPAP machine, but awkward because of the seat layouts, in Business Class it was great.

At the time I last flew I had a Fischer and Paykel machine. with the machine at 16 and with the humidifier on the power supply cut out. with the humidifier off it worked OK.

I would contact the airline and explain to them that you are a CPAP user, (i am sure they get a lot of enquiries) as they may have to reserve seats at specific points on the aircraft.

A night without the machine will not do you any lasting harm.
