    can anyone help me i do alot of camping and tried a 12volt cigarette lighter connection the machine did not work when i plugged it in and now wont work on the main plug can i reset something on the machine?

    Machine failure.

    Hi, I think you probably have a resmed CPAP, if this is the case plugging a normal 12v supply blows an integral fuse, this can be replaced but only by Resmed, I know because I did the self same thing. Resmed fixed mine free of charge but I had to pay the postage cost and it took them about 4 days to get it back to me.
    If your machine is not a Resmed then over to the others on the forum.

        Welcome to the forums!

        Indeed, ResMed being Aussie, apparently their electrics work different from products made in Europe. Plug in a ResMed machine with a generic or non-ResMed 12V DC Cable and the lot blows. For this reason, you are forced to always buy ResMed's official 12V DC Adapter cable and use it with whatever 12v source you hook it up to. I'm sure it says so in the manual, but who reads manuals these days?
