    Hiya,
I did think about that, and then my next thought was 'I wonder if I should get my filter changed earlier than the 6 months reccommended.?
I also have asthma so if it does get bad, I will spend all my time in bed breathing filtered air

Hi, I have a Respironics machine and there is a little sponge filter that I remove and rinse out, usually, about weekly. Used not to do it so regularly but we now live in a very dusty place (had a lot of building work going on) and I was advised to do so.

        You should have .....

        Hi Biggles

You can buy from Respironics and Intus and who else, packets of fine filters that fit behind the course filter of which you speak.

Change the fine filters when they go grey, Respironoics tell us - without mentioning what shade of grey (from pale if you remember to change regularly to nearly black if you forget.)

You can also buy vacuum cleaner filters a lot cheaper and cut them to shape.

            Calling all Resmed S8 users

That's a grand idea, dravidio, and one I may well take up for my Apex travel machine (they come with very coarse foam filters only).

Before I do that though, at James suggestion, I want to try for size a filter from a Resmed S8. So I'm looking for someone willing to send me a slightly used Resmed S8 filter.

Please don't assume that someone else will do it! If you will PM me I will send my address by return.

I have found that adding additional filters to the sponge one does reduce the air flow to much.

                  Remstar.
But saying this I am beginning to think that my mask does exhaust a lot of air so the airflow through the CPAP must be high.
