  • CPAP side effect or a coincidence?

I read a thread dated 22nd December 2008 re a person who was using a CPAP machine and developed gall stones. I have begun using a CPAP machine and visited my GP yesterday for advice on pains. The GP has arranged a blood test and an ultra sound. I am awaiting an appointment. I have developed pains near to the bottom on my liver. The GP thinks it may be gall stones. Having read this thread dated 22nd December, is this a side effect anyone else has experienced or just a coincidence?

Hello. I've been using CPAP for over 5 years and have not had gall stones yet. She said touching wood

Are men more likely to get gall stones ?

Hope everything works out OK for you.

More likely the gall stones related to Obesity and OSA than CPAP - no logic in how CPAP could cause gall stones
