Hi all I've been a suffer for a while my 1st machine was a Drager Luner, this I bought from checking it out on the internet It was the cheapest I could get (Not the best-and you gets what you payed for) it came from Germany, TNT delivered it and it and it had Customs charges on it, I explained that as (I was exempt Medical charges and it was a medical item needed to keep me alive I was exempt any customs charges and it took several phone calls between me HM Customs and TNT but I finally won, (HM customs I originally spoke to had never heard of CPAP or sleep apnea) anyways it was a big chunky machine (bit like me) the panel light up and stayed lit up (dont they say the best way to sleep is in a cool totally darkened room no lights) so why did it do that ?, so out came the black sticky tape. the machine was so noisy I used to put a couple of pillows on top to deaden the sound but it worked. My next machine I again purched via the internet was in Dec 2006 a Fisher&Paykel SleepStyle 604 machine with Thermo-Smart a water tank is filled with distilled water and the pad underneath it heats it up then it is passed through a heated tube to your mask, I could not get on with this my mask would fill up with water/condensation it was noisy (not exteme) I tried lowering the temperture but it lost it's desired effect. So on to my latest machine which is a dream absolutly fantastic the ProBasics Zzzpac small about 6inches square silent just a slight whisper, This was purchased on one of my many trips to Florida, USA where my sister has a villa that she rents out throughout the year but in the winter months I get to go and stay with her normally in the November time, the Americans have dealt with sleep Apnea for a long time and have many good machines so there you have it By the way if anybody is interested the Sleepstyle 604 is for sale only 3 months use
