    Persevere!

    Hi jasonuk75

    Fear not! it is fixable!

Lots of people get a placibo effect the first week and then seem to back slide.

Give it a while longer, if you don't start to sleep better and longer, get back to your clinic hotffoot - get them to tweak your pressure a bit.

There is always the option of learning how to tweak for yourself, of course. I find this useful because I never seem to need a setting for long periods - and a half centimeter up or down can make the world of difference. It seems to be a trial and error thing to find the right pressure for you, right now - and long waits to get to the clinic aren't helpful in this regard.

Given time and perseverance, it will all become second nature to you and you will sleep easy. Time and perseverance. And tweaking!

        Hi Jason,

Quite a few people find that fixed pressure CPAP doesn't cut it for them. You can try and beg, borrow or steal (metaphorically) an APAP from the hospital or get one yourself of course if yuo really don't settle on a fixed pressure.

The Pro you have has the ability to record data on a card. After 2 weeks or so, send it to the clinic and get them to check the pressure is right still. It may be that a pressure tweak makes things better for you.

The pressure setting of 14.5 seems a bit excessive for a new starter. Try a setting of 10 to start with, then adjust by small increments if necessary.
CPAP treatment is for the long term so putting you off early will not be very productive. Small adjustments - bigger results!!

5 Hours isn't bad for a beginner so don't beat yourself up on it. But do get in touch with the clinic as you clearly aren't as comfortable now as with the APAP.

By the way, in the Control Panel link top left, you can permanently set a message footer with your equipment in it. Like a signature, it will then show on all posts.

                    Hi all
sleep tech phoned me back and has given me suggestions, wanna see wot u all think about it
said to tech i found auto crap better, had auto for a week, been on fixed pressure for a week now gone back to being sleepy, unrested eyes closing ect, it was suggested
1, i go to bed earlier say 11pm, even before cpap been a night owl, i wake up after 10pm!!
2, to not sleep during day and i should sleep better through night, which sounds great, but being as tired as i am, eyes closing invoulnmtry, not easy to stay awake during day.
3tech suggested it may take only 1 or 2 days of not sleping during day for me to get longer sleep i need at night, then i;d hopefully not be tired throughout day
tech wants me to phone back in a week, and keep sleep diary to keep me motivated!!
also i cant work due to other chronic health issues, on long term sick, taking a lot of medication daily, including morphine
