  • CPAP Pressure

Just had my machine pressure reset on my cpap to a lower setting and feel I have gone back in time.

I have started to fall asleep at work, watching the tv and in the bath again. Anyone got any ideas why this should happen as I have been ok for the last year.

I do not understand how the data card can be changed to do these setting the cpap machine is still showing the original settings

    Who? Why?

    Hi technica/Technica

At face value, seems the lower pressure is allowing a higher AHI (more events) so the quality of your sleep has diminished.

Who altered the settings and why?

Do you know how to manage your own settings? It's easy to find out how to access the clinician's menu for most machines, if not all.

I don't understand your last sentence. The data card records, not alters, settings. If the machine is showing the same (original?) settings, why do you think the pressure has been reset?

      Hi Technica

Why was your pressure lowered? Like TF said this may mean you are now having more apnoeas, disturbing your sleep. It is never a good idea, however, to start tweaking your own settings unless you really understand what you are doing and why - clinicians menu is called that for a reason.
The datacards in Remstars can be used to reset pressure settings as well as recording data, but the pressure on the display is the pressure you are getting so if this hasn't changed then your machine hasn't been reset.
You should get back in touch with your sleep service.
