I know, sorry, too much information.

As an on-topic PS - please note that you can't get it VAT exempt from Amazon as they don't have the facilities to do so. You can buy it VAT exempt without prescription etc. directly from us by just stating you will use it for personal use only and that you suffer chronically.

        Rising costs

The US supplier's site quoted the shipping incorrectly and they want another USD 10.06 so that puts the cost of 200 g at your door up a tad. I've asked if there's a cheaper rate - as in, does sea mail still exist?

James - what does genuine promotion entail?

SinuPulse makes all other products obsolete

SinuPulse is a great nasal irrigator best I have used and i have tried just about all including the grossan which is good but breaks down way to easily. Folks are lucky to get a year out of it. The Sinupulse is way more durable and has more bells and whistles including a dual pulsating spray or rinse operation. Its easy and only takes minutes to use. I recommend it highly you wont be disappointed.

I use sinuRinse by NeilMed and it works well fro me but also floods like Niagra. See Amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0023DEXQE/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=471057153&pf_rd_s=lp o-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000A0S5KC&pf_rd_m=A3P5 ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0RNZNB2JM18D21VHMW0S priced at £13.75 plus 50 saline sachets the same is £14.45 at Boots. 100 sachets cost £12.09 found at http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Ddrugstore&field-keywords=Neilmed+SinuRinse+Sachets&x=10&y=26 . £17.00 at Boots though. Are these too expensive TigersFan? Can also be bought in Boots. I fancy that machine and wondered how good it was. Thanks for your commentry review TF, much appreciated. Is that Cas Tigers? I live close to Cas Vegas!

              Leicester Tigers of Leicester, UK

The cheapest salts are from Intus - James will send you some for free on occasion - well, with a bit of back scratching.

A thought this morning: what would be wrong with mixing up a batch of salt solution at the right density and only using the top 80% - that should keep un-dissolved particles out of your pump. Sinuair is so easy to use, on the other hand ......

              Thanks for the links.

I agree with TigerFan that using a diluted salt mix would do fine. Boil the water add a couple of teaspoons of salt to a pint of the boiled water and stir vigorously, cool and pour through a collander with kitchen towel as a filter. I do this when creating 'limescale-free' water for my humidifier! All saline solution is, is salted water. I realised after posting my last post, I think I may have broken a golden rule by asking you TF about where you live? Sorry about that. It's just I live in a village near Castleford (Castleford Tigers!) and worked in Cas. It is just me being a nosy Irishman who is new to this all. I am a chronic pain sufferer and at times I don't put my brain into gear before I spak or in this case write. The forums are an invaluable resource and also full of energy and positiveness when sometimes we are frustrated by CPAP problems. By the way I have a truly magnificent book on CPAP written by two consultants and an author who is an OSA sufferer. Am I allowed to suggest it as a must read? I don't want to be seen as someone advertising?
                Cheers everyone!

@TF and others, the tub-only version of the SinuAir salts are now on Amazon:

Without the spray bottle or sachets, they are cheaper per gram.

@JoeCool - you are welcome to suggest any product relevant to the topics in this forum. The aim of these forums is to help out CPAP users with whatever useful comes along. If you have any great tips, found a great product and so on, you almost have a duty to share it

Here's a good sinus related book:

                  Here's a CPAP book I know of:

BTW when you mix your own saline solutions, you should really steer away from table salts or anything like them that contain additives, preservatives etc. that shouldn't be inside you.

                  Read for example:

                  Irrigation Fluid & Salinity
Physiologic and Hypertonic Saline Solutions Impair Ciliary Activity in Vitro,
Boeck,Wilbert. Keles, Nesil. Graamans, Kees, Laryngoscope March 99 No 3, p.396.
Certain hypertonic saline solutions cause ciliostasis (the cilia stop functioning) from which the cilia may not recover. If cilia are permanently damaged, the ability to fight infection is lost.

There's much more to salt than meets the eye.

                    Like I said .......

.........SinuAir is so easy to use.

I'll be sticking to it, anyway!

                    TF

PS JoeCool - how do I know you live in Church Fenton near York, England? Look top right of your posts! No sin to ask a question - I can always decline to answer, anyway. I take it Castleford is near Church Fenton - but where on earth is Cas?

Silly me, TF, of course my address is up there. Cas is the local name for Castleford and the nick name by those outside of Castleford is often Cas Vegas. Las Vegas it is not. Within three miles of Castleford is Pontefract and the locals there call it 'Ponte' and those outside Ponte often call it 'Ponte Carlo'! Get it? Cas Vegas and Ponte Carlo The people from these two mining towns and of course historical twons are the salt of the Earth.

Of course Hull City are also called the Tigers. Yep, Church Fenton is a wee village approx 6-7 miles from Castleford. There you are, some trivia for you from Sunny Yorkshire.
