Where can I buy distilled water in London?

I live in the south east and have brilliant tap water. I am only 20 miles from London so the water might be the same there too.
I use it straight from the tap after running it a few minutes to get it as cold as possible. About every 3 months I put diluted white vinegar in it for a day to make sure it's clean.
Always, use fresh water each day otherwise it ends up being smelly cos you are breathing in and out over the top of it and any germs are having a field day breeding and it's not nice!

Filtered water

The main point is to get rid of the Calcium Carbonate because it will 'fur' up the hotplate in your humidifier like it furs up the heating element in your kettle and make it less efficient. The same happens to the heating elements in Washing Machines making a market for Calgon.

Filtering the water is the easiest and cheapest way to get rid of the cal and other minerals that can mess up your machine. Boiling the water transfers the problem to your kettle and is not as effective in any case.

My brother lives in Poole and their water is so bad that they actually have a Brita kettle which has a filter built in.

Hi Grumpy,
I am really lucky, in 6 months of using my machine the plate still looks like new.
The doctor at the hospital told me not to waste my money on buying water and to use the stuff that comes straight out of the tap but I suppose thats cos he knows we are in a good water area.
A lot of other members have to use special water, it must be a right pain.
