Hello all.
New to CPAP after being diagnosed with OSA a few months back. I am using the Philips DS with humidifier and found this forum and wondered if any of you more experienced members could help.
I have downloaded sleepyhead and looked at the data from the machine.
Obviously the events that get by the CPAP give me the AHI but I was wondering if anyone could tell me can I work out how often the machine is successfully stopping an event?
In other words can you see what your AHI would have been had you not been using the CPAP
My reason for wanting to know is that I am losing weight and will continue to do so and wondered if you can see if this is having an effect on the number of times the machine has to prevent a blockage. My original AHI according to the DS was 5.8 but since dropping 15 pounds its now averaging 2.0
I would like to hope that when I get back to a healthier weight the OSA may be cured but realise that does not happen for all. I would however like to know if it is having any effect. If for no other reason than to help encourage the healthy eating and gym visits to continue.
thank you for any help
Casper
