I am considering buying the Resmed software and card reader. I think it is called Resscan software. Seemingly Resmed will not sell it in the UK to patients (maybe they think we can convert it to a bomb). Does anyone know where it can be bought in the UK or do we have to buy in America?

      Hi Brian

I wanted to buy a mask from www.cpap.com in the States but their postage was actually more than the cost of the mask so I decided to look elsewhere and found another site with better mail costs. Sadly was told I could not buy Resmed products from the States as I was in NZ and had to use the local suppliers or alternatively have the products sent to a friend in the US who could forward them on to me. The dealer was very sympathetic.

I'll be interested if you manage to purchase in the States as the prices are very much better than the UK or NZ. I wanted to buy a Resmed Mirage Swift II nasal pillows which I think were around $120 US. Here in NZ I will have to pay the equivalent of £150.

I look forward to your progress.
      Cheers Retsyo

I've heard that a large chunk of the price difference is to do with CE approval. European countries require medical equipment to be CE approved (tested and certified) which adds costs. US products need to be FDA approved or whatever version they use. For legal reasons, many US suppliers will refrain from sending masks and machines intended for the US market to other countries because they aren't approved for that market.
