I've heard that you can buy eye masks to help stop the leak of air into eyes while wearing the full face mask. Has anyone heard of these or indeed tried one ?

If you have a problem with your eyes watering, I suggest you ask your GP for a blood-sugar test. It may be you have Type2 diabetes as having watery eyes is a common symptom. Either that or you're watching too many sad movies!
Never mind the eye-masks, you need something to stop the face-mask leaking, full-stop. Have you tried the RemmZzzs face-mask liners?

Eye masks
Thank you for your replies, however the problem of watering and irritated eyes only started when I started CPAP therapy. I do not have diabetes. No matter how hard I try I cannot get a proper seal of the mask. I have tried a bigger size and a different mask completely with nasal pillows which I could not tolerate at all. I have heard about masks on the US forums and wondered if they were available here.

Importing from the US is easy but I wonder if you would be better served by a trip to a Mask Clinic at Resmed or Respironics. For £25 they show you the in and outs of mask fitting as well as all the masks they make - one of which they will try to sell to you.

EYE Masks
Hi Eheavie, an eye mask for sleeping might just be the thing you need--or try a taped cotton ball over the inner corner of your eyes before you go to sleep. The nose and eyes are connected through the tear duct. If air is blowing in the nose, and your eye/nose tubes are wide enough--then air can blow into your eyes through your nose. That can transfer germs into your eyes and make them water, or dry out. This happens to me when I have a cold (Which I thankfully don't have often!) I have never used an Eye Mask but if it shuts out the light--then it would probably work to shut out the air too. Try a pharmacy for an Eye Mask and talk to the pharmisist about your problem as he/she might have a better solution to your problem. The watering eyes might continue even with a full face mask. I suggest talking to someone who deals with watering eyes before you get another mask. Good Luck, xx Berneta

I found the airline style irritated me after a while then I stumbled on a one made by ecotools in Boots in pamper section that works very well as it is softer and more like soft cotton on face. It also fits around( underneath bridge) of my mirage Quattro mask.
Cheap and easy to handwash too
