  • Universal Heated CPAP Hose Is Here

After a long time waiting for the Australian manufacturers to finalise their EU paperwork, a Belgian manufacturer of hoses steps up to the plate and brings you the Hybernite Superday Rainout Control System.

Read Tom's blog about how a heated hose prevents CPAP humidification here.

In a very neat package, it provides an adapter (powered independently from your CPAP machine) and a heated hose. A quality hose, with built-in heating coil. It's by Plastiflex, a huge world-wide manufacturer of all sorts of tubes and hoses. There's a big chance that whatever vacuum you have, they made the hose. In recent years to put together a healthcare division and this is their first product, with more hose-innovation to come.

Intus are their UK distributors and we are very happy to present this product, at a fantastic price (£59.95 + P&P) And if in a few years the hose wears out, the replacement tube is a very reasonable £32.95, not much more expensive than regular tubing.

So check the video and say goodbye to condensation. You don't need to switch to an S9 or SleepStyle with ThermoSmart, or import from abroad as you can now have a very robust, well-engineered solution to rainout in a convenient package.

Of course, as a forumer you are first to hear about it and as you all inspired us to keep searching the globe for a solution, we'd like to express our gratitude with a voucher code for free delivery for the first 25 people who order today, Monday, Tuesday May 17th and Wednesday 18th. Simply type "FREEDELROC" to get Free UK Delivery on your Rainout Control System. We'll have stock coming the week after.

The first 10 to review the system after purchasing will get a further £10 voucher to use for future EU-PAP orders. So check out this new heated hose now.

I have ordered one. My Aussie hose has stopped working for a few weeks now and I have missed it. This one looks more robust and has the CE marking - and a power supply! Will report back when I get it...

I'm a new CPAP user, having had my ResMed Escape II EPR S8 (with huminifier) for nearly two weeks now. I use a ResMed Mirage Quattro full face mask as I am a habitual mouth breather when I'm asleep and the mask seems to assist in being able to breathe through my nose only.

I had a ResMed AutoSet (without humidifier) for one week prior to that and it was worked out that I need my pressure set to 11.4 when on CPAP.

Over the week I averaged about 4.5 hours a night when on the autoset machine but I can't seem to keep my mask on when using CPAP set to 11.4. I seem to wake up around 12, 2 or 3am each morning and for whatever reason seem to take the mask off and fall back asleep.

I have just ordered some Unisom night time sleep aid tablets which I'm hoping will help until I get used to the concept of being asleep with a full face mask on.

I have the humidity up reasonably high (set to just over 4 on a scale of 0-to-6) and suffer quite badly with "rainout" and noise from excess water. I was wondering whether the cold air was what was eventually waking me up and I was hoping that the 'Hybernite Heated Breathing Tube' from from Intus would be a worthwhile investment and allow for a better CPAP experience.

I'm on a somewhat limited budget and would like to know whether it was worth paying the extra money (59.95GBP) and ordering the full kit (with power supply) or can I just purchase the hose and obtain one of these power supplies from Maplins a little cheaper? The extra 27GBP against heated tube ONLY takes this a little over my budget but I know that dedicated or replacement power supplies can be very expensive..... so if I really need to order the full kit then I guess that I would pay it.

What rating would an alternative power supply need to be?

      Regards, Jay (34, Male)

If you are getting rainout now - mid-summer - you will definatley need a heated hose come autumn and winter.

        The power pack for a Hybernite is INput: 100 -240V ac 0.7A 47 - 63 Hz and OUTput 12V dc 1.25A.

        Respironics REMstar 'M' Series APAP.
Resmed Mirage 'Quattro FX' Full Face Mask with a 'Quattro' headgear.

Thanks TF. Though I think the connection is proprietary, so a universal power supply won't do much for it. But Jay, if you read our Twitter Account, a few posts down, there's a little surprise for you which may help with your budget.

By the way, we have had great feedback with the Hybernite. Only the standalone F&P HC150 seems too powerful for this hose, a slight bit of condensation may be left if it's set to the max on 10. All the other humidifiers it has dealt with comfortably.
