  • What size inverter

    Hi Guys,
This has probably been ask before, as an HGV driver I now need to use the resmed in the truck. What size inverter should I use and will this drain the battery too much so it will not start in the mornings.I am also considering buying a 12v dc battery pack and a lead to connect to the cpap machine to save using the truck battery outlet. Not sure what to do. Anyone been in the similar situation?
    Regards,
    Ray

You can buy a converter from Resmed, about £50 which will run on 24 volt. As long as you have decent batteries it will run all night and fire the engine the next day. Just get permission off the workshops first. I would avoid running it while engine is running as voltage goes up to 28 volts and more if the alternator becomes faulty.

Dont go down the inverter route as it uses more power and you need a true sinewave to run the humidifier, the cheaper inverters are modified sinewave and wont run it properly.

An inverter is only necessary for the humidifier. The machine will run off 12, sometimes 24V just fine.
