Respironics Card Reader

Hi there

My first post so hope i have done this properly

I was wondering if anyone knows of a generic USB smart card reader which will read the Respironics smart card and do exactlythe same as the Encore Smart card reader.

I have had a look online and the official repsironics smart card reader/writer costing around £130! at various sites.

i am prepared to pay a decent price but thought £130 + was very excessive.

Any help or links or notes of experience would be much appreciated.

Use the 'search' at the top of the page. A few moons ago there was a lengthy discussion about this. 'smart card readrer' should do it.

I did try the search facility for smart cards but couldn't find what i was looking for?!

I have found there is a smart card reader called the - ACR38 USB desktop reader and i really just now need to find out if it will do exactly the same as the Encore Smart Card Reader?

No problems at all if no one has any ideas about it but thought i would ask anyway

My apology. The information was sent in my PM to DB - long since deleted and lost. A firm in Hong Kong was selling the generic version.

If you take your smart card to Maplins or similar, perhaps they can advise you.

The card in my Respironics is just a simple SD card -

- can you not read it with your PC?

(and a bog standard card reader if the pc has no sd card slot?)
