  • Utterly convinced - SinuPulse Elite

Because I've not had a cold since I started using my SinuPulse Elite -a couple of years at least - I had begun to entertain the idea that regular nasal irrigation prevented colds and flu from developing.

A week last Friday, Joanna turned up with a streaming cold and stayed in my home for three hours. I used the SinuPulse Elite soon after she left and again the next morning, as usual. I enjoyed last week in Budapest, free of cold or flu. I did not take or use my SinuPusle Elite.

Within twenty-four hours of getting home, I had a tickle in the back of my throat. Within forty-eight it was a sore throat and congestion. I had a cold! Caught it on the plane, I guess.

So now I am utterly convinced that an unadvertisded side effect of regular/daily use of a SInuPulse Elite is the prevention of colds and flu developing. Apparently, the bugs multiply in your sinuses so they must get washed out with the pulsating saline solution.

    Cold

Hi TF--sorry that you've caught a cold. But happy that you had a good trip last Week, and got home safe. As they say, you must have touched something that Jo touched while she was there--or got it on the plane. (or someplace on the trip.) Mostly germs go from hand to mouth or nose--then take a while to incubate. Hope the Elite keeps you from having some miserable nights. I seldom catch colds or flu--bless the hand sanitizer. I don't think I could use one of those machines (looked at it on the internet) and it looked a bit frightening to me. Nose torture device! (Cowardly Princess) Berneta

      sinupulse

My sinuses have been playing up again and so have been unable to use the cpap. Just ordered a sinupulse machine; will let you know how I get on.

        sinupulse: first use

The sinupulse arrived today and I gave it a first go.

Was expecting it to be unpleasant and difficult to use but it was neither. If you're happy using an electric toothbrush you will have no problems with the Sinupulse.

A little uncomfortable a few minutes after use with a runny nose but I'm hoping this is an adjustment thing.

        More to come....

all well and good so far

Used it everyday after getting home from work (which is where I'm most likely to pick up bugs). Having a good 'blow' after using it reduces the small amount of discomfort. Looks like I will be a regular user.

We do realize, don't we ......

that the SinuPulse Elite is actually about clearing the sinuses to make breathing easier and thus PAPing easier?

The side effect is that it also washes bugs away and thus reduces the chance of infection. I am not aware that SinuPulse have ever made such a claim - it's just my experience over a couple of years.

And long may it continue!!! for all of us!!!

                salt packs

Just bought a 200g bottle of the SinuAir salts and it comes with a small nasal spray bottle for occasional use; ideal for taking on hols instead of the machine.

                How you getting on Fred?

Sinus Irrigation is known to reduce the time the common cold takes.

We've never gone into much details about the dozens of benefits, but Tom is now working on a SinuPulse website that does exactly that, go into the nitty-gritty. So yes, we've missed a number of valid claims (makes for a nice change, getting more than you bargained for) but this site should address that.

Glad to hear you all like the results you are getting. We're trying to make the sleep clinics aware of this more and more as we really feel it goes hand in hand with CPAP. A lot of CPAP users (close to half) have regular sinus problems and could indeed benefit greatly from regular washing in that area.

It's been done for thousands for years. The SinuPulse just makes it more powerful, efficient and handy.

Just as a quick heads up, we will be launching a new website dedicated to all thing SinuPulse shortly. We'll let you know when its up but it will have pages of information on there about how it can help with various conditions.
