Smelliies for your humidifier

Has anyone tried these and are they good?
What smell do you reccommend?

I fancy a bit of aromatherapy while I sleep but have no idea which to get.

Hi Lorraine.
I like a nice smell for my CPAP and chose plain vanilla extract. I put a few drops on a cotton pad near my CPAP intake and its wonderful. Lavender oil might be very relaxing too. I love the smell of apple cinnamon but am afraid it would make me hungry--LOL--so I stick with the vanilla mostly. I also have an electric "scented candle" melting pot in the bedroom--and that makes the whole bedroom smell lovely with any type of scented candle you choose to melt--and and you don't have to worry about fires or cotton balls. You just have to make or buy a scented candle and put it in a glass jar inside the melting pot. If you have pets--all I can tell you is that my cats don't mess with it. Its not hot enough to burn you--but gets very warm. You could melt wax in it and add a few drops of scented oil too. Good luck on the 1000! Berneta

Pur-Sleep oils are absolutely wonderful! They are not just for a humidifier, though - they work with any PAP machine. A few drops by the air intake and whoosh! you can be transported!

'Ordinary' essential oils are not recommended for this - I don't know why. Way back, Pur-Sleep had a to-do with the USDA - seems they didn't have USDA approval/certification for a product to be ingested. All resolved long since and we can breathe Pur-Sleep safely, all night long. Uncle Sam says so!

'Bubblegum' is to be avoided, in my opinion. 'Spice', 'Peace' and 'Calm' are my favoutites - but it really has to be worth experimenting to find your own. If you buy a sampler pack, you'll get a load of small phials, all different aromas.

If you have a PAPing bed-partner, I suppose you could halve the cost of each having smellies - or fight over which one tonight, Josephine!

Thanks for the info TF,
I don't have a paping partner but I do wonder at times with the volume of his snoring! However he doesnt stop breathing so I live with the noise and have myself a pillow speaker to distract me. That and a sharp poke in the ribs every few minutes LOL
I will do as you suggest and ask James to send me a sample pack of pur-sleep.
