    Why?

    Hi acebass

Why take the sheath off to wash the hose? Chuck the whole shebang into a basin of warm, soapy water and wash the sheath. Then wash the hose as you do normally. Hang up to drip dry - I use a a small bungee to lasoo (???) the head of the snake and have a hook over the bath-tub.

If you really, really want to remove and re-fit the sheath, put the corner of a plastic bag over the hose rubber connector. The sort of plastic bag you put veg in at Tesco works brilliantly. Slips in nice and easy!

        I cannot tell a lie!

A friend, and wife of a friend, took one fleeting glance at the problem and pronounced, "Plastic bag!".

And just in case you are wondering why she was in my bedroom, she wasn't. It was at her kitchen table when I went to collect the hose sheaths she had made for me - colour co-ordnated wih my linen.

Thank you, Lorr, on behalf of all hoseheads!

To let it go ..... or to say?

One more round and then you're the winner!

I wonder if Daddy Dinosaur said to his children, " I'm not bothered, we've been getting colder and colder/ hungrier and hungrier/ deeper and deeper in volcanic ash for six years now and we're doing fine.

The last two dinosaurs left standing - two males - were overheard to say, "More than one is most definately not always plenty."
