  • Humidifier and nice smells!

    Hi there,

I would like to put something in my humidifier to make things smell like something nice as opposed to plastic and rubber so was wondering what I could use? The user guide for my humidifier says not to put fragrance things in it as it may impact on the humidifying performance. It's a ResMed H4i ( I think that's the correct ref).

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Ewan

(ps, am used to the mask now, am sleeping right through too!! Few issues with rainout but otherwise brilliant!1 Feel human again!! )

    PurSleep

    Hi EwanJon

James of this forum and Intus sell PurSleep - fragrances to suit your mood and aid restful sleep.

Don't put anything into your humidifier, rather on a pad set by the air intake of your machine.

Olbas Oil is also very good - smells a bit medical - and great for keeping nostrils clear.

I like the sound of this. A nice soothing aroma to drift off to sleep to. Off to check PurSleep now.
      Thanks TF.

        Thanks TF.

They appear to do a really good starter kit which I might well purchase as I need some more Remzzzzz liners anyway and a hose fleece cover thing. Just need to get paid so I can afford them!

        Thanks!

          Pursleep = Perfection

          Hi

I have to endorse TF's post the set of sweet smelling oils in pursleep really are very good quality and worth trying out; (I like "Clear" and "Peace") you also get a brilliant simple tab holder and an amazing set of testers.

I have also used Olbas oils on the same pads - if it is a bit strong move the pad slightly further away from the intake. If like me you live in an older house do remember to clean the air intake filter (normally foam) just squeeze it and brush it off (I also reverse it from time to time)

STRONGLY AGREE - NEVER PUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN WATER IN THE HUMIDIFER or if you run HOT in the summer use some ICE CUBES - if you put one type of oil in the tank it can taint the plastic forever - and if you go off that scent then you may need to replace the reservoir (EXPENSIVE! )

Anyway hope it helps - cheers

            Thanks!

The starter kit does look really good, but like you, I'll need to wait until I can afford to treat myself.

I do have lavender oil at home though and am wondering if it would be possible to maybe put a few drops on, say, a cotton wool ball and use that?

Any ideas if that would be ok?
