  • Humidifiers

    Hello,

I suffer from VERY dry mouth already when sleeping and from what I've been told this will continue when I start using my CPAP machine tomorrow.

Are humidifiers available on the NHS or is it something I would have to pay for? I go to Wythenshawe Hospital if that makes any difference.

    Many thanks,
    Ewan

    Hi EwanJon

Don't know about your particular Trust but most seem to dispense humidifiers (based on posts on this forum) and some very definatley do not.

All should offer you the option in my view.

    Good luck

      OK, thanks for that.

I will ask the question and see what they say.

      Thanks,

        Hi there,
I go to Wythenshawe hospital for the sleep clinic and they supplied a humidifier without any problems. Maybe all you need to do is ask as they have been very helpful to me.

I have picked up my gear now. They gave me a ResMed Escape 2 with the extra heated ResMed humidifier which integrates directly with it. I didnt even have to ask for it. Brilliant.

I have to say, the staff I dealt with at Wythenshawe were brilliant. The technician nurse was great, very helpful, full of info etc.

          Thanks,

          Ewan
