  • What's gone wrong? Leaking mask

    Good morning (ish),
I know it is still early days but I have had 2 bad nights after 6 good ones.
My mask is leaking and I keep waking up.
I saw mention of mask liners, Remzzz or something? I am using a quatto full face mask, size small. Anyone know if I can buy these in a chemists or at Boots?
    Is there any other advise?
I haven't changed the settings on my cpap machine but it might be happening because the headgear straps have stetched? the top non adjustable strap seems to be looser. I have tightened the forehead screw as tight as it will go but it is still feels loose.
    Would duck tape work?
Thanks in advance for any help !

    Kind regards

CPAP is such a specialized niche, you won't find any specific products at general chemists or Boots. We at Intus are the importers of RemZzzs so I happen to know a place where you can get them

The pressure normally doesn't need changing. It's true that a mask will start feel differently after a few days or weeks, a bit like running in shoes for example. The fit generally becomes better, not worse. At least not for a good 9-12 months or so.

Many "newbies" overtighten the mask. This is a common, and logical mistake. See the straps as gently holding the mask in place. The actual seal is created by the cushion. Much like a hovercraft, the skirting creates the "float". Its turbines do the steering.

You should try and have the straps as loose as possible, not as tight as possible. And most people will always get some leaks. Leak-free isn't the goal. Comfort is more important. As long as what little leakage is there isn't bothering you or your partner too much, it's no big deal.

      Thanks James,
I have ordered some Remzzz liners and some mask cleaning wipes from this site and will see how I fare with them.
My husband says I am back to snoring and stopping breathing again, even though I am wearing the mask, so something isn't right but I will perservere until I get to see someone at the hospital, if, they ever send an appointment.

      Cheers
