  • Mask rash

Hi everyone, I’ve used a cpap machine for 10 years or more and only used Resmed equipment. These last few months I’ve developed persistent bad rashes on my face and no matter how clean I keep the mask I still break out with spots on my nose and very red blotches on my cheeks and forehead. Please, if you’ve any ideas or advice that would help I be very grateful. Some mornings it looks like I’ve been mauled by a Lion!

    Hello,

That is strange. Have you changed soap? Is that a new mask? Did you buy it from your regular supplier?

If you experience discomfort, red marks or air leaks with your CPAP mask, consider RemZzzs Mask Liners. These soft cotton fabric liners create a barrier, absorb skin oils and reduce air leaks as well as skin irritation and pressure marks. Try a sample pack for just £8.99. https://www.intushealthcare.com/prod...p-mask-liners/

Thanks Giny for your reply. Yes I have used Remzz with mixed results. However having used all manor of creams etc I will give Remzz a longer trial to see if it helps. Once again thanks for your reply and if you hear of any products that will assist me as a cpap user I’d be greatful if you’d let me know.
      Best regards,
      Charlie.

        Good Morning,

        Thank you for your post.

Can I kindly ask if you have tried a gel cushion mask? It may be a case of being allergic to the silicone on the mask cushion, so a gel mask may be better for your face.

If you have not tried a gel mask then I would suggest looking at
        1. Ascend Gel Nasal CPAP Mask – FitPack - https://www.cpap.co.uk/product/ascen...-mask-fitpack/
        2.
Ascend Gel Full Face CPAP Mask – FitPack - https://www.cpap.co.uk/product/ascen...-mask-fitpack/

Both these masks come as a fit pack, so include all 3 cushion sizes with the mask.

Both of these masks are risk free so you can try them for 28 days and if the mask is unsuitable, then you can return it back to us for a refund of the mask price.

Do you want to have a look at the above links and let us know if you have any questions.

        Kelly
