I hope my sleep clinic responds positively - I emailed them last week and they said they would pass it to the manager. Fingers crossed! If I had a sleepweaver, I wouldn't have to sleep with my back to my OH - the plastic mask is so ugly!

I got my sleepweaver mask today! It's pink! LOL
I will be posting tomorrow to give my opinion. I have high hopes for it because it is the first soft one I have seen.
I can't wait to go to bed, is 4:38pm too early?

First freebie has gone out to a lung function technologist in the South.

Get in touch if you want to have a go at this unique opportunity too.

One of you has PMed me after getting in touch with the clinic. That clinic didn't visit the BSS meeting I spoke of so they hadn't received a free demo and trial sample of this new SleepWeaver Advance. As this patient has now discussed this with the lung function technician at said clinic, we will send the clinic this sample, so they can check it out, read our information about it and then (hopefully) hand it to the forum member who told them about this mask.

Rather than sending it directly to this forum member, this route helps us get the clinics involved, get them educated on this innovative mask.

We are happy to extend this to other members who really want this mask, think they will benefit (as in, you can breathe through your nose) and who have a good relation with their sleep clinic.

As explained, some clinics already have freebies, we don't want to double up on these so these free masks are granted on a case by case basis, no promise made unfortunately.

PM me, or email us, with your clinic details and some "proof" that you have specifically discussed this mask with them, and the fact Intus are willing to give one to them for free, for you, if they are curious. They will also get a demo unit to keep there.

So you inform them, if they play ball you send us their details, we send them the mask etc. and then you get the mask from them when you next go there. You'll have to do the groundwork to earn the mask!

    Mask

I got on very well at sleep clinic respriatory centre and he adjusted my nasal mask while I was was there. I used this last night and with straps somewhat tightened it now feels fine and comfortable.

    Many thanks for your help.

We were at the British Sleep Society Spring Meeting in Warwick yesterday to officially launch this mask in the UK. There the hospitals attend as delegates and we gave many of them a free trial SleepWeaver. So yes, it's worth asking your clinic about this mask and telling them that if they don't have them already, to get them from us at Intus Healthcare.

I will see if we can spare a few for a forum give-away of sorts. Will have to think of something...

    Best chance

    Hi cDM

I reckon your best chance of geting the right mask for you, first time of trying, is to choose a manufacturer with a sleep clinic near you (assuming) and spend £25 on a mask fitting session.

Other than that, standard NHS issue seems to be Mirage Quattro. I get on well with mine and others in the forum report good results, too. It is a very, totally, uniquely personal thing, though - and the nub of successfl therapy.

    Full face mask

I have a nasal mask to use with Fisher Paykel machine but it seems that I move this during the night and I think full face might suit me better. I have review tomorrow Monday at City Respriatory Center and I am going to ask if they can let me try a full face mask.
If they refuse I would consider buying a full face mask if I can afford it. Have you any advice or suggestions.

    James,
Have you supplied any to the NHS? Just wondering if I should contact my sleep clinic and see if I can have one through them?

My husband says I had a cheek to ask you to trial one but if you don't try....

Anyways, I am sick of working myself to the bone while everyone else reaps the fruits of my labour. Building society, Council, utilities etc
I want some of my money for ME!! I work hard enough just to get through. Can't wait till I retire and claim everything I can from the state I want a holiday, I will need new clothes soon as the weight drops off but know I will be wearing size 24 when I am a size 14.
Good news, I have lost 1st 8lbs in 3 weeks

Like Poppy I would love to try one, I can't afford it though My husband is a taxi driver and I struggle now to keep house and family afloat financially pretty much on my own.

Shame because I cannot get on with a nasal one at all and the bridge of my nose is breaking down. I try padding it every night and always use RemZzz but to no avail.

    James, Welcome back!
Would you like someone to trial and do a report on it for you?
