Default Hi to everyone

Hi to all here. My name is martin and i'm a sleepy snorer, oh wait thats for snorers unanimous....dearly beloved we are gathered here to join snoring, nope not right either...turning pages furiously.

Got it, I am a born again cpap believer. After many years of doing impressions of jackhammers and small explosive devices i was diagnosed with sleep apnoea and fitted with my new friend Gail (as in gale force). I used to wake entire hotel corridors and my wife has tried out every earplug under the sun (and several used underground). A friend suggested that i go get tested and after failing my oxygen test (really annoyed about that, hate failing tests) and being given my new friend i have embarked on a new life of energy and zest. It hasn't been completely plain sailing, her first mask and my nose proved incompatible but a slightly larger gel mask removed the pressure sores and our new life together has started. She occasionly breaks wind in the direction of my eyes but who hasn't gone through that phase in a relationship. The snoring is finished and my wife sometimes pokes me in the ribs just for old times sake. Came across this site while i was surfing for info on travel cpaps and seems like nice folks live here so i thought i'd say hello.

Dats all for now, i'm an occasional internet user but i'll try to keep popping in. And remember Cpaps Really Are Perfect (but be careful with the acronym)

Hi Lorraine (and anyone else who reads this) , may i say what a lovely pink mask you have (em, since we are asleep when we use the critturs i wonder why colour is important - have just been told by my wife that if that logic was followed through then the backs of all dresses would be gray, i trust that makes sense......to someone/anyone). Trudging leads to terrible posture as my grandmother would have said, you could meet your end at any moment and would you like to meet your maker with slumped shoulders? She might not have translated that correctly. I forgot to pimp for info when i joined the site, i am thinking of getting a travel cpap (don't tell Gail i'm thinking of not taking her on holiday...might sulk and then i'm in trouble.....never annoy a lady who has you by the nose is my new motto) but a combination of light weight box and that sleepweaver thing seems to be quite attractive. Might pass on the pink though, for several reasons, only one of which involves the wallpaper. Wonder if anyone has tried them and how they got on. Not sure if i want to attract the attention of the salesmen, joking, you seem like nice guys judging by the posts. Humour is the best medicine, oh wait, cpaps are the best medicine, humour is the second best..no wait, painkillers are the best, humour is the third..apologies to the python team for stealing the comfy pillows. I shall now retire to the sweet arms of morpheus and my apologies for the rambling above....martin

Hi Martin,
The colour is not for my benefit!
It is pink to remind my husband that I am still female. Of course it doesn't work I am a mere machine to him these days.
I am working my way up to driving my car whilst wearing my mask just to prove to TF that I am not shallow, just stupid like he is <g>
If I were more awake I would post further but for now this will have to do.

Nighty night
Lorraine

Default Hey!

Just because I'm an OAP now doesn't mean you can be abusive!!

I thought I was running into you yesterday - not literally - when a little, shocking-pink car was headed in the opposite direction to me. It turned out to be a Panda driven by a brunette.

Was Lady Godiva a blonde?

TF,
I never met her myself but in the history books she is portrayed as one. Why?
Are you really an oap? You sure don't behave like one

Default Inception

Hi Lorraine

Have you seen 'Inception' yet? In part, it is about planting the seed of an idea into someone's mind, where it will grow and grow until it becomes their own idea, upon which they will act.

You can't have noticed my birthday cake at the bottom of the Forum page a couple of days ago. I am now officially on the Gov't pay-roll, though I bet they tax me more than they re-pay my NI contributions!

I have absolutely no intention of growing old gracefully - though I downloaded a shmaltzy CD yesterday. Ernesto Cortazar. My problem is - I like it!

Good morning TF and Lorraine.... Someone was driving a panda, and even odder, a pink one????? I would have thought naked women on horses was weird enough!! Does it run on bamboo? And being naked on a horse has to hurt. Always plan on growing old disgracefully will be my motto as well. Just joined Lorraine in the sleepweaver club (i chickened out and went for blue) but first night not a complete success. It is very comfortable pressure wise but found it quite noisy (sounds like a small wind tunnel, and then gave me nightmmares about flatulent elephants.......a mixed blessing but i did enjoy my morning bun more than usual). Will try again tonight, Lorraine do you find it noisier than your usual mask? Off to the rest of the day in my new improved non sleepy state....regards to all.Martin.

Hi Martin.
My mask makes the same level of noise as every other mask I have worn. It does toot quite loudly when there is a leak, which, sadly, I seem to have had more of over the last couple of nights. Maybe it is because as I lose weight I am not making the right adjustments. I am sure whatever the problem is it is down to me. I might also treat myself to some strap covers because the headgear wants to go over my ears rather than under them.
Scarey thought...perhaps my head is changing shape!
Is my nose supposed to go down the tube? LOL
Happy days, happier nights xx

going to retry tonight but the evil elves have been feeding alcohol to me(but since they bought all the rounds i'll put up with it. ) strap fiddling is always worthwhile.......in so many ways!!!...so any conclusions may not be valid... i may not find my face, but if its a bad night at least my butt wont snore!! curious question for the forum, no matter how much i drink (weddings and bar mitzvahs) i remember to hit the mask on..odd..night night sound of body hitting the bed with cpap being stuck on nose..ni ni wap!!
